You can still visit the cave throughout the year and enjoy the spectacular sights. The Castle was built by Reverend Charles Scoville, a Disciples of Christ preacher. The castle was to be used as a retreat. It consisted on 474 acres with an auditorium which boasted excellent acoustics. Many believe that the castle was inspired in part by the Mormon Tabernacle, Salt Lake City. They named it Inspiration Point. It is an ideal spot for weddings. The National Register of Historic Places names the Blue Spring Heritage Center a place of national significance.
The spring contains 38 million gallons (one day) of water. It is also surrounded by a lush lagoon that is full of native plants. It is open every day from March to November, 9:00am to 6:45pm. Adult admission is $9.75 and children under 5 are $6.50. Seniors and those with disabilities get discounts Blue Spring Heritage Center is an Arkansas tourist attraction that is privately owned.
