Boxcar Children, Gertrude Warner: This book was written decades ago, but they story has stood the test of time. It's amazing how many, now adults, tell how this book made them into avid readers. And they have passed the series on to their own children. The tale is of four children who travel in an empty boxcar without parental supervision, a captivating storyline for children constantly reined in and directed by adults. Somehow the children find ways to survive through happenstance or ingenuity.

golden teacher growkit Who are you? What do you want? -- Each of us has special career needs that must be met for us to be satisfied. These needs are often called drivers or motivators. They stimulate your interest and drive you toward certain directions. That is why you choose certain subjects in school or sports. That is why we lean toward certain professions. Today, there are many free online assessments that will help you to identify these. If you can't find a suitable assessment tool, then check in with a career counsellor. But no matter what, find out what motivates you. These motivational drivers include the need to have independence in your work tasks, being in a technical, a social or an entrepreneurial environment, the need to lead or manage a project and/or ensuring you have life-work balance.

Like most school-year children, I became friends with whom I sat next to. We talked before and after class--and sometimes during. I don't exactly remember why, but the girl started to write me notes. I think it was because she was too bored during class.

The room seems to double in size and the outside lighting adds a unique dimension. A beam of light shines in stirring the room. There is an old finely tuned antique classy black piano in one corner of the immense space and in the opposite corner a wonderful stereo system -- music is playing softly but will change tempo radically several times in the next 45 minutes. Sometimes a rug, soft mats or pillows cover the entire smooth shiny wooden floor.

A man and his wife had the good fortune to possess a goose that laid a golden egg every day. For a while they were happy and lived well, but then they became impatient with how quickly they were accumulating their wealth. So they thought that if the goose could lay such a fine egg of gold, it must be lined with the precious metal. If they cut the goose open, they could get the gold all at once. Of course we all know what happened, the goose was just a goose and there was no gold inside.

Give your child some time to try and sort things out. Children are adaptable and are capable of finding ways around problems they have in school. Sometimes the ways they choose work, sometimes they don't. But always give your child a chance to work things out for themselves before you jump in to provide support. I suggest that you give your child up to four weeks to try and work things out. That gives them time to try new ways of working and to settle into one that suits them.

golden teacher growkit When asked for advice on martial-arts school selection, rather than recommend a specific school, or even a particular style, I instead recommend the way my teacher (Steve Golden) has in the past: I tell them to choose based on the personality of the teacher at the school.

Intent also involves the use of your eyes. In the tai chi classics, it says something like, "The eyes and the hands must follow each other." However, this does not mean that your eyes must exactly follow the movement of your hands. It means that your eyes and hands must arrive at the same point at the same time.

Tai chi uses slow, soft force to deflect or divert an opponent's energy instead of meeting force with force. This allows time for your mind to contemplate the movement and imagine the movement in your mind before your muscles actually move.

During the process of house Training don't let you dog have free rein in the house. Keep it in its crate letting it out to relieve itself or to play while your there to supervise. You're trying to prevent those accidents which will quickly turn into bad habits. Dogs don't learn quickly from there accidents as fast as you might think. You're the dog's parent, teacher and need to teach them how to not have these accidents. Even though they don't enjoy having to learn this process of training, its vital you keep reinforcing the training process again and again until the results become good habits.
