How I Turned My Failures Into Success
Affirmation: I am joyful and thankful for each one of my life experiences. I gain wonderful golden nuggets of wisdom from each. They make me grow. I am also thankful for every person I have come to I know and meet in each of life's experiences.
golden teacher Johnny Lingo was handsome, young and wealthy, having shrewdly amassed a relative fortune. An outstanding guide, he led customers to prime fishing spots and the best places to get pearls. Known throughout the islands for his skills, intelligence, and savvy, Johnny was also one of the sharpest traders around. He got customers great deals, but always seemed to make the best deals for himself.
You, my dear Diva, are a Golden Goose. Each day you lay multiple golden teacher eggs throughout your life. They are often disguised as meals for loved ones, staying a little later at work to help your boss or co-workers, volunteering at the church or PTA, working on your cross-stitch or scrapbooking or on a passion of your heart. Everything that you do, each and every day, that brings a blessing to another is a golden egg. Like the goose in the story, you know how to lay the eggs. How well do you care for the goose?
growkit golden teacher Of course, before you test new teaching approaches, you need to be testing and measuring what you are already doing. For example, the number of teachers who stand up and teach every day and have never accurately measured the response and therefore don't know if they are getting through - is scary.
golden teacher Lao Mu is afraid that her royal children will suffer in the great catastrophe, hurry cultivate virtue and devote to the missions. He who comprehends Lao Mu mercifulness and is grateful to the enlightened teacher is truly a virtuous person. The graciousness of the guidance from the enlightened teacher is so great that you cannot repay by even sacrificing your life. You should constantly keep in your heart that the grace is as heavy as the mountain and as deep as the sea.
Hard-to-reach students will only be truly motivated by you when they, either consciously or sub consciously understand how they are going to benefit from what you are teaching them. What is in it for them?
golden teacher growkit I was also never into hot water. But now that I live in the Pacific Northwest I have an appreciation for tubs. I'm glad I am usually not shy. And am amazed how non-sexual I find the baths. Bodies are of so many sorts. If women went topless I bet men would be less fixated on sex and everyone would be more at peace. There is occasional beauty outward and often beauty inward found with people there and now here. We make sex overly important by our thoughts and conditioning and other societal games (make up, advertising, high heels -- my thought not Esalen's).
I had a capacity for falling in love unmatched by anyone else I know and unrestrained by any need for reciprocity. In my last year at primary school I fell irrevocably in love with words AND my gangly English teacher who must have been at least 25 years older than I was.
When asked for advice on martial-arts school selection, rather than recommend a specific school, or even a particular style, I instead recommend the way my teacher (Steve Golden) has in the past: I tell them to choose based on the personality of the teacher at the school.
I was raised not to call people "out of their name". My grandmother named me David, after the great Hebrew patriarch. She taught me that my name meant 'beloved' and not to let folks shorten or alter it. "Dave did not slay Goliath", she admonished. "Nor was Dave king of Israel." She explained names often carried the weight of expectation. What you called others was as important as anything else you could say to them was her belief. More vital, though, was what we allowed others to call us. Hence, my edict.
golden teacher Uses of Huxley (named after English Author & consciousness pioneer Aldous Huxley) are many. (Like Big Sur itself -- "The Land of Many Uses.") People might be hanging out or in Love and Huxley is a favorite place to snuggle and feel safe and free at all hours.
golden teacher Many teachers fail do a good job in the classroom because they do not have the ability to maintain a good classroom environment. A golden teacher must establish and maintain a positive classroom environment from day one. How does a teacher achieve this? From day one, students must learn and understand what the rules are in class. The teacher must reinforce such rules consistently. During the first week of school, the teacher must go over the classroom and school rules every day, making sure students fully understand what is expected of them. Managing classroom behavior starts from day one and has to continue everyday, all day long.
Our former employer had fired Bill because he was 'too slow and indecisive'. How was it that a man who'd had two exemplary careers as a fire-jumper and military analyst and had enjoyed a long and successful career at other institutions come to us only to disappoint? Amazingly, his bosses did not ask this question. They found it easier to blame him and his former employers for duplicity. He was gone within months.
